History
1993
December Sky was born in 1993 , out of a common interest to write and record music; primarily for personal pleasure, rather than for the purpose of performing live. Giving the freedom to develop, experiment and avoid working to any kind of formula. It is this aspect of doing what feels good rather than trying to do things by the book, which we still cling to now.
1994
‘Shoreline’ (a 60 min Album) was the first offering, completed in 1994,with a little help from our friends; Bec for backing vocals, Brian Privett for some excellent photos for the cover, ‘Mad-Dog’ Arnie & ‘Razzle Dazzle’ Daryn who helped us out with the use of their computers to do the original titles & graphics.
1995-8
Following ‘Shoreline’ there was a quick and steady succession of new songs for the next Album, then Daymon moved into a new house, and it all faded away in a haze of DIY and other house related things. So December Sky rather went into the doldrums, with just the occasional song being recorded until...1998.
‘Misshaps and Mayhem’ a 13 track Album is a collection of songs from the period 1994 – 1998 and we made just 4 (I think) copies of it, as it was really just for posterity, (and some of the songs are a bit dodgy), although ‘Running Man’ & ‘Into The Sunshine’ deserve a mention.
1998
In 1998 we got a P.C., joined the digital age and recorded ‘Face In The Mirror’ a 5 track EP, (well 6 if you count the hidden track...
A few early versions don't have this track...and some have something even stranger).
1999
1999 was a slow year in terms of quantity of songs, but the quality of those which made it is, we feel the best yet. The direction of things is definitely changing for the better. The three that survived, are Altitude, Reason and They All Fall Down, and released as a 3 track CD simply titled ‘3 for ’99’ you can check them out at the downloads page.
2000-2007
Well, what can we say – life kinda gets in the way...
Tim and Daymon have both continue to write music from time to time, but a new December Sky release has been sadly missing for far too long.
Daymon currently has 7 songs written (on guitar at least) with a view to a future December Sky album – plus various ‘twiddly bits’, and Tim is also currently working on some new material.
We hope to start on a new album in 2008 – Just as soon as Daymon's rebuilt the studio.
